Service Unit: Central Phoenix
Troop 4510
Years as a troop leader: 1
What inspired you to become a troop leader?
My daughter and I volunteered at a Girl Scout event at the Parsons Leadership Center, and she loved every thing she learned about Girl Scouting, which led to her asking me if she could be a Girl Scout. I knew I had to do it for her!
What kind of activities do you do with your troop? What is their favorite thing to do?
We had our first troop meeting recently and I loved how much the girls were eager to learn and be part of Girl Scouts.
What kind of service projects have you done with your troop?
While we’re a new troop, we plan to organize services projects next year in our community.
Tell us about a volunteer moment that stands out to you.
A volunteer moment that stands out to me is when my daughter said her favorite part of Girl Scouts is seeing everyone together.
What is the most inspiring moment you have experienced as a troop leader?
At our first meeting, we had nine girls and all of their parents. Seeing how involved the families are and the girls ready to learn from us, their troop leaders, was so inspiring.
